Gold Coast Information

 

Famous for its sun, surf and sand, the Gold Coast also has vast rainforest hinterland with breathtaking scenery – all a short drive from our regional centres.


Gold Coast City is a dynamic city with a wide variety of built and natural attractions including:


• 70 kilometres of beaches stretching from South Stradbroke Island to Rainbow Bay with an average water temperature of 22 degrees
• Major shopping centres as well as numerous boutiques, specialty shops and markets
• More than 500 restaurants and cafes offering cuisine from around the world
• Nightlife entertainment from nightclubs, restaurants, clubs, hotels and Conrad Jupiters Casino to Broadway musicals, ballet and theatre
• Theme parks including Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Dreamworld, and Wet ‘n’ Wild as well as several wildlife parks such as Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
• Rural hinterland stretching to the west and north of the City encompassing many natural wetlands

GETTING THERE AND AWAY

The region is serviced by the Gold Coast Airport with frequent domestic services including daily flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide and frequent flights to other national and international destinations.

 

Brisbane Airport offers passengers direct connections to 26 international and 39 domestic destinations.

 

GETTING TO THE VENUE

The following are the most commonly used options for airport transfers:

Taxis
Bus/Shuttle Services: Several bus companies operate including those who provide door-to-door transfers between the Brisbane and Coolangatta airports and your accommodation. Travel will usually be in mini coach vehicles with a trailer for luggage. Airport pick-ups and drop-off are in the designated coach zones.
Limousine Services
Train including Airtrain Connect

 

A door-to-door rail and road service that transfers visitors to and from the Brisbane airports (domestic and international) and their Gold Coast accommodation. The road portion of the transfer uses sedan limousines.

 

GETTING AROUND

Surfside Buslines provides Gold Coast's public bus service as well as the Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle to help you get around the Gold Coast.
